Little Fish

That's right...it's summertime, the pool is open, coolers and pool bags are packed with toys and snacks, and we've got a little fish on our hands! Aidan loves the water!!! He had NO FEAR today at Nana and Papa Lou's pool. He wanted to "swim" all by himself, stand in the water without his crab floatie or arm floaties, and was even doggie paddling. Watch out Michael Phelps, Aidan might just give you a "swim" for your title!

"Don't Blink!"

We went to eat at North Hills tonight and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Aidan LOVED playing outside on the grassy area and even enjoyed eating an ice cream cone!!! He fell in love with Kourtney's baby stroller and pushed it around all night.

It's amazing what one year's difference makes. My little boy is growing up right before my eyes. I would love to freeze time for a little bit as each of these moments are so precious and I'm not ready for them to fade away quite yet.

Aidan last July at the North Hills grassy area...

And tonight...

"My Nuuuuu!"

Aidan LOVES his Uncle Nuch so much! You can often hear him calling for him as he says, "Nuuu". He will then tell you, "My Nuuuu"! We are so glad that Anthony lives so close to us and that Aidan gets to see him often.

Anthony- Thanks for loving Aidan so much, seeing him any chance you can, and of course...for all the cool shoes! We love you!

La-La-La-La...La-La-La-La...

Elmo came to Aidan's school today! Even though we are tracked out, we decided to make a special trip to school to see the famous red guy. Aidan was a little scared when he first came in, but quickly warmed up as he started to sing and dance. He even cried when Elmo was finished and kept saying, "Mo-Mo" all the way home in the car. Could this mean there is hope for Santa and the Easter Bunny at the mall yet?

Pullen Park

We took Aidan to Pullen Park today for the first time. Aidan did GREAT on the carousel and train ride, but is still a little unsure of the swings. My mom and dad used to take Anthony and I to Pullen Park to play a lot when we were little, so it was very cool and almost surreal to be playing with my little fellow there today! I've included a couple of pictures of me at Pullen Park (from the summer of 1983) in the exact same places Aidan played today...thanks mom for saving ALL your pictures to share with my little guy and to bring back such awesome memories of my childhood. I wonder if 25 years from now if Aidan's children's little footsteps will play in those very places?!? Kinda cool to think about...but for now I'll just cherish my little one's footsteps.

Faith like a child...

As I was getting Aidan's bath water ready tonight I noticed it was awfully quiet. I peeked around the corner and saw the sweetest thing that just melted my heart. Aidan was "reading" his favorite book...Baby's First Bible quietly in his room. He was looking at the story of Noah and the Ark and pointing to the elephant and lion in the book and then to his lion and elephant on the wall while making their noises.

Dear Lord,

May you continue to draw my precious son to you. Mold him into a child who longs to know you more and wants to walk deeply with you. May I remember to be drawn to your Word as my sweet Aidan was tonight.

Amen.

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." - Mark 10:14

15 Month Check-Up

Aidan went to the doctor on Tuesday for his 15 month check-up. His stats were: Weight: 24 lbs. 0.5 oz. (45%) & Length: 33" (90%). We've got one tall little fellow on our hands. The doctor said everything looked great (except his double ear infection of course). We continue to be so incredibly thankful for such a healthy, amazing little boy! Here are a few tidbits about our little man at 15 months old:

* He loves the song "London Bridge is Falling Down" and has to have it sung to him or played in the car OFTEN

* He can say the following animal sounds when you say the animal: dog, cow, lion, monkey, elephant, sheep

* He can identify the following body parts when you ask where they are: eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, fingers, toes, foot, leg, arm, belly, "pee pee" (ha!), hair, & tongue

* He can say these "words": Dada, Mama, Nana, Papa, "Nu" (Uncle Nuch), Meme, Granddaddy (in his own broken, screaming way), Ba-Ba (bottle), "I do", Thank You, Bye-Bye, "Ello" (Hello), ball, MINE, and shoes

* He only drinks from sippy cups (gave up bottles at 12 months) and is starting to feed himself with a spoon

* LOVES to be outside...I think he would live out there!

* He loves to do ALL things BOY: climb, run, play with cars, play with any type and any size ball

* He loves to have his teeth brushed and fingernails clipped and gets upset when we are finished

* He sometimes has stranger anxiety and LOVES, LOVES, LOVES his Daddy and Nana- He walks around the house saying, "My Nana"!

* He can follow simple directions like, "Aidan go get your shoes. Aidan please pick that up off the ground."

* He pushes the limits...he has to be popped several times before he gives in...did someone say stubborn?

* He gives hugs and kisses- oh this melts my heart every time!

* He LOVES straws and drinking (playing) with them in cups at restaurants

* He is very independent and loves to do things himself

* He loves to read books while snuggling in his rocking chair

* He is a little OCD (not quite sure where he gets that from!?!)- he will stop crawling up the stairs if there is a piece of string or dirt on a step until someone picks it up....sheesh!

Fun in the SUN!

Gotta LOVE being tracked out!!! Today our good friends, Amy and Leslie, invited Aidan and I over to hang out with the little girls that Leslie nannies for. Aidan had a great time playing outside. It took him a while to warm up to the beach ball sprinkler...he never really "ran" through the water, but enjoyed holding the water hose. Of course he found the many balls laying around in the yard and shot a little basketball (check out the ball he chose to play with...such a SMART boy!). Aidan even got to take a bath in the utility sink when he was finished playing. Thanks Amy and Leslie for such a fun day!
